This Friday and Saturday is the South End Art Hop in Burlington, VT. This is an annual event that has been going on for 18 years. The South End of Burlington will be filled with all types of art, from fashion and jewelry to paintings and sculptures. Most artists’ work is not only on display this weekend but for the entire month, with special events going on Friday and Saturday, September 10th & 11th.
Saturday night will host the Strut Fashion Show which showcases local fashion designers and artists. Models will be strutting down the runway in local designs followed by an after party.
The South End Art Hop is FREE but all are encouraged to help support the annual event by purchasing a $5 Art Hop Hero button. The Strut Fashion is $5 with the button or $12 without. For info on where to purchase the button click here.

This weekend hails the Live Free or Die Tattoo Expo in Manchester, NH. The Expo will go from Friday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 25th. Artists including the legendary Lyle Tuttle, Nick Malasto, and hundreds more will be attending. Proud to say our hometown shop Yankee Tattoo will also be there. Space and tickets are still available. Don’t be shy…go get inked this weekend and send us your pics!
Beth Robinson will be featured as the artist-in-residence at the Firehouse Gallery in Burlington, VT through July 24th. If you’re a fan of creepy and dark art you’ll love her Strange Dolls.

The 2010 Boston Tattoo Convention will open its doors on September 3rd. The deadline for early registration is June 30th. Numerous artists will be attending the convention including our hometown’s Bald Bill from acclaimed shop Yankee Tattoo. Plenty of vendors will be in attendance including:
Nora Townsend, artist and tattooist, will be having her first art show at The Block Gallery & Coffeehouse in Winooski, VT. Her art will be displayed for the month of June with a reception that will take place this Friday, June 4th from 5pm-7pm. The featured pieces will be paintings on birch wood using wood stain.
